Save the Children Welfare is a subsidiary of Save the Children Sweden. We create innovative and sustainable solutions for children and young people in vulnerable life situations. We know that important adults make a difference!
Within Save the Children Welfare, there is the subsidiary Save the Children Care and Support, where we currently operate three psychological clinics for young children aged 0-5 years, their parents, and expectant parents in the Stockholm area on behalf of Region Stockholm. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team. You will be part of a team consisting of a manager, an administrator, and 14 psychologists.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring that children get a healthy start in life together with those close to them. Our goal is to provide resources early to promote interaction between children and their guardians and to work closely with other actors who advocate for children.
In your work, you will:
- Provide support to expectant parents where mental health issues may hinder upcoming parenthood and the relationship with the expected child
- Provide early interventions to children and guardians to prevent, assess, and treat mild to moderate mental health issues in children aged 0-5 years. The focus is on promoting interaction between parents and children and strengthening co-parenting
- Provide ongoing consultation to child health care nurses and midwives at child health centers and midwifery clinics from a child, parent, and interaction perspective
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary collaboration teams around mental fragility/illness during pregnancy and early parenthood
ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE?
You are attracted to working in a relatively new organization with a focus on children. In your role as a psychologist, you will have the opportunity to continue developing the organization with us. You have experience working with young children and interactions between children and their close ones. You are passionate about ensuring that the child's voice is heard and advocate for the child's needs. Central to your work is warmth and commitment to children who are particularly vulnerable in society. Important qualities for the role are initiative, flexibility, and good collaboration skills.
We also see that you have:
- A valid license as a psychologist
- Experience in assessment, support, and treatment aimed at children under 6 years of age
- Special knowledge in developmental psychology
- Experience working with early parenthood and support for expectant parents
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
Experience in consultative work in relation to child health care nurses, midwives, or equivalent is an advantage.
DOES IT SOUND INTERESTING?
The role is a temporary position at 50% from August 25, 2025, to May 31, 2026. You will primarily work with patient contacts. Your placement will mainly be at the clinic in Enskede. At Save the Children, we are proud of our shared values (https://www.raddabarnen.se/globalassets/dokument/om-oss/riktlinjer-och-policys/vad-betyder-vara-varderingar-201201-1.pdf) that unite and guide us in our important work.
